core operations
Our goal is to promote sustainable development, growth, and employment in the Svinesund region. Opportunities for residents, visitors, and businesses should flourish in our border region between Norway and Sweden.
The Svinesund Committee engages in activities across various areas to develop the border region. The operations can be divided into two parts: core operations and project operations.
Core operations form the foundation of the committee’s activities, including political meetings such as the annual meeting and board meetings. The committee’s CEO and staff are responsible for implementing the committee’s mission, ranging from creating meeting places for businesses, academia, and the public sector to monitoring developments in the Nordic and European region, as well as ongoing administrative work. We are a non-profit association with employer responsibilities, and the office is located in Strömstad City Hall.
An important task for our core operations is to initiate and develop development projects. Through projects, we can test and create more efficient and new ways of working. The goal is to promote sustainable development, growth, and employment in the Svinesund region. Projects often involve collaborations between different stakeholders and aim to facilitate regional businesses in meeting international competition and sustainability requirements.
The committee has chosen to focus its activities on four main areas: blue growth, green growth, tourism, and border opportunities.
