The Svinesund Committee
The Svinesund Committee has a clear focus on development distributed across four areas: Blue Growth, Green Growth, Tourism, and Border Obstacles.
Green growth, sustainability, bioeconomy, and environmental investments are high on the agenda in both Sweden and Norway. The forest is a fundamental industry in our member municipalities. There are many companies in the timber industry that have good opportunities for growth.

Between Oslo and Gothenburg, where the Svinesund region is located, there is coastal fishing, large fish processing industries, Scandinavia’s largest port, marine national parks, marine tourism, and broad research expertise at universities and research stations.
Tourism is one of the world’s fastest-growing industries, which also holds significant importance for the Svinesund region. We are currently working on developing a more sustainable tourism linked to our attractive yet sensitive environments.
All the Nordic border regions have the potential to create greater dynamism in business, economic growth, and new jobs. One of the strongest arguments for resolving border obstacles is regional development along the borders.
